Rayz | Supporter Terms and Conditions

Note: These terms apply to Supporters using the Rayz platform. Changemakers and Charity Partners are covered by separate terms.

1. About these terms

1.1 These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Rayz App Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16847921), registered office Rayz, Working From Southwark, 32 Blackfriars Road, SE1 8PB, ("Rayz", "we", "us", "our").

1.2 They cover your use of the Rayz platform (the "Platform") as a Supporter - someone who donates to and follows the grassroots changemakers and charity partners on Rayz.

1.3 By creating an account, making a donation, or otherwise using the Platform, you confirm you have read and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1.4 Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.

2. Definitions

  • Changemaker - a verified grassroots individual, team, or community-led organisation you can support on Rayz.
  • Charity Partner - a recognised charity or NGO on the Platform.
  • Donation - a one-off or recurring payment you make toward a Changemaker's or Charity Partner's work.
  • Recurring (monthly) support - a Donation you set up to repeat automatically each month until you cancel.
  • Updates / Captured Lives™ - the posts, images, audio, and video a Changemaker publishes about their work.
  • Trust Badge - a Changemaker's verification status (e.g. Rayz Verified)

3. Your account and eligibility

3.1 To use the Platform you must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate, current information.

3.2 You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly of any unauthorised access (contact@rayz.space)

3.3 You may close your account at any time.

4. What Rayz is - and what it isn't

4.1 Rayz is a technology platform that connects you with Changemakers and Charity Partners and lets you support and follow their work.

4.2 Your Donation supports the work of the Changemaker or Charity Partner you choose. Rayz operates the Platform; it is not itself the recipient of your Donation and is not the charity delivering the work.

4.3 Rayz verifies a Changemaker's identity and completion of our onboarding process (shown through their Trust Profile). Verification is not a guarantee or audit of their finances, and it does not mean Rayz endorses or warrants every Update or outcome. You decide who to support based on the information available to you.

5. Donations

5.1 Making a Donation. You can make a one-off Donation or set up recurring monthly support to a Changemaker or Charity Partner. Payments are handled by our third-party payment provider(s); by donating you also agree to their terms.

5.2 Authorisation. When you set up recurring support, you authorise us (through our payment provider) to take that amount each month until you cancel. We'll tell you the amount and timing before you confirm.

5.3 Cancelling recurring support. You can cancel recurring support at any time through the Platform or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future payments; it does not refund payments already taken. Allow a reasonable period before the next payment date for the cancellation to take effect.

5.4 Refunds. Donations are gifts in support of a Changemaker's work and are generally non-refundable. However, if a payment was taken in error, was unauthorised, or was duplicated, contact us at contact@rayz.space and we will investigate and put right anything that was charged incorrectly. This does not affect your statutory rights.

5.5 Fees. During the MVP, donation payment-processing fees are passed through transparently and shown to you. We will tell you about any change before it applies to you.

5.6 Gift Aid. Where Gift Aid applies and you choose to add it, you confirm you are a UK taxpayer and meet the conditions for the declaration you make. You are responsible for the accuracy of your declaration.

5.7 No guaranteed outcome. Donations support real-world work that can be uncertain. We can't guarantee a specific result from any Donation, and a Changemaker's plans may change.

6. Content you see on Rayz

6.1 Updates and Captured Lives™ content are created and published by Changemakers, not by Rayz. While we set content and safeguarding standards, we don't independently verify every claim in every Update.

6.2 Content on the Platform is for information and connection. It is not financial, legal, or tax advice.

6.3 If you see content that concerns you - for example a safeguarding worry, or something that looks misleading or inappropriate - please report it to us at contact@rayz.space. We may remove or restrict content in line with our standards.

7. Your profile and conduct

7.1 You may create a Supporter profile and choose what to share. You're responsible for the content you post.

7.2 You agree not to: misuse the Platform; harass, abuse, or attempt to contact Changemakers or beneficiaries inappropriately; post unlawful, hateful, or misleading content; attempt to circumvent the donation flow; or interfere with the Platform's operation or security.

7.3 We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these Terms.

8. Referrals

8.1 If you refer others to a Changemaker or to Rayz, only share contact details where you are entitled to and the person would reasonably expect to hear from us. We'll handle any details you share in line with our Privacy Policy.

9. Privacy

9.1 We process your personal data - including your account details, giving history, the interests you tell us about, and how you use the Platform - in accordance with our Privacy Policy available on our website.

10. Intellectual property

10.1 Rayz owns the Platform, brand, and software. You're given a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the Platform under these Terms. Content published by Changemakers belongs to them or their licensors; please don't reuse it outside Rayz without permission.

11. Suspension and termination

11.1 You can stop using the Platform and close your account at any time. Cancelling your account also cancels any recurring support going forward.

11.2 We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, or where necessary for legal, safety, or security reasons.

12. Our responsibility to you

12.1 We provide the Platform with reasonable care and skill, but it is offered "as available" and we don't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

12.2 We are a platform connecting you with Changemakers and Charity Partners. We are not responsible for their conduct or for the work they carry out, though we will act on safeguarding and trust concerns.

12.3 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud), and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.

13. Complaints

13.1 If something goes wrong, please contact us at contact@rayz.space and we'll try to resolve it. You can also raise concerns about charitable fundraising with the relevant regulator.

14. Changes to these terms

14.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll give reasonable notice of material changes. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them; if you don't, you can close your account.

15. Governing law

15.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may also have the protection of, and be able to bring claims under, the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
